Council is building a new fully fenced off-leash dog park in Lions Park, Glen Innes, and we need your input to help fetch the best decision for our four-legged friends! Lions Park is a popular spot with its open spaces and community feel, making it an ideal location for our new dog park Project highlights include: Secure fencing with double gates Shelters for shade Water stations for pets and people Entry lighting Agility equipment for fun and exploration Residents are encouraged to review the proposed location and provide their input. Notice of Proposed Road Closure: Derry Place In accordance with Part 4, Division 3, Section 388 of the Roads Act 1993. notice is hereby given of the proposed closure of Derry Place within the property boundary, between Lots 7,8,9. 10. 11. & 12 in DP 1008237 in the Parish of Glen Innes. A plan showing the location of the proposed road closure is available for viewing and public comment at Council's Town Hall Office, 265 Grey Street Glen Innes, and Church Street Office, 136 Church Street Glen Innes Alternatively you can email your submission to council@gisc.nsw.gov.au Submissions concerning the proposal will be accepted by the General Manager, Bernard Smith by 16 September 2024. Temporary Road Closures: William and Glasson Streets William Street will be closed to traffic turning off the New England Highway until 21 August(pending weather). Following the completion of William Street, Glasson Street will be closed Heway until 304 New England weather Access will be available for property owners via Edward Street, however all other traffic will be diverted away from the area. Australian Standing Stones Management Board-Wednesday, 21 August at 5.30pm Glen Innes and District Services Club Boardroom WORK! Completion of Hunter Street Upgrade Council has recently completed the Hunter Street project, with new bitumen sealing laid between Bourke Street and George Street. The project included 120 metres of new kerb and gutter, full reconstruction and shape correction of the adjacent road and parking lane, and pavement rehabilitation of a further 100 metres of the road to the south. Infrastructure Works Program The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 30 August 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays: Jet patching in Glen Innes Township.
