Council staff came first in the Rural Management Challenge where they defeated 24 other councils in the State. In addition to this, Council also came home the Asset and Infrastructure award. Council is central to the strategic direction of the community as well as Its day-to-day functioning and these awards are a reflection on the great work of all staff, as they continue to deliver for the community Movie Screening at the Library The Glen Innes Severn Public & TAFE Library will be screening the iconic film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert on Saturday, 22 June 2024 as part of Pride Month. For more information, please contact the Library on (02) 67302600 REMINDER: Visitor Information Centre Toilets Closed for Repairs Dates: Tuesday, 11 June-Saturday, 15 June Please be advised that the toilets at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) remains closed for essential repairs until Saturday 15 June. During this period, we encourage you to use the nearest public toilets located at Town Hall and McDonald's. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our facilities. Mann River Bridge on Mt Mitchell Road Construction Update Council's Bridge team has successfully completed the installation of twelve 16-metre precast planks for the Mann River Bridge on Mt Mitchell Road This marks a significant milestone in the project, as all major precast superstructure components are now in place. With this phase completed, the focus now shifts to the deck works, which are currently underway. Infrastructure Works Program The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 21 June 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays Jet patching in Glen Innes Township, and Pinkett Road General pothole patching, street sweeping and roadside slashing around the Glen Innes Township The Roads Construction Crew will be a parran Road and Jenkins Maintenance grading is scheduled Euroka Road, Grahams Valey Road, Homestead Road, Old Ben Lomond Road, Ingle Vale Road, Munsies Road, Morven Road Ya Road.
