Centennial Parklands Project Opening The official opening of the Centennial Parklands new amenities, outdoor seating and children's playground project will be held next Monday 5 August at 11 AM. This project received grant funding from the Australian Government through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program (BSBR) and is supported by the Glen Innes Severn Council Annual Hereford Bull Sale The 79th Annual Glen Innes Hereford Bull Sale took place last Wednesday, 24 July, at the Glen Innes Saleyards. The is the oldest multi-vendor Hereford sale in Australia, and last week there were 49 bulls and 14 stud heifers on offer. Despite the trend moving towards more online and on-property sales, the Glen Innes Saleyards Annual Hereford Bull Sale remains a significant event in the agricultural calendar, offering an important platform for vendors. Wentworth Street Bridge Update The concrete bridge deck for the Wentworth Street bridge was poured on Tuesday, 25 July 2024 With this milestone, the bridge is now 90 per cent complete and has entered the final stages of finishing works and road approach construction. The bridge is expected to be open to traffic by late September. Infrastructure Works Program The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 16 August 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays Jet patching in Glen Innes Township. Mt Mitchell Road and Wellington Vale Road: General pothole patching, street sweeping and roadside slashing around the Glen Innes Township; The Roads Construction Crew will be working at Haymarket Road; Maintenance grading is scheduled Glen Legh Road, Ben Nevis Road, Aqua Park Road, Wycliffe Road, Reedy Creek Road, Oslos Road and Hamels Lane. Maintenance crew is installing Blue Rural Addressing signage.
