Operating out of the Australia Post office, the library will be open from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, providing the Glencoe community with valuable resources. Following the temporary closure of the Glencoe Library in February 2024, Council is excited to welcome our new contractor, Yolanda. We look forward to seeing our patrons return and are eager to serve the Glencoe community once again. FREE Exercise Classes at Life Choices! Council is hosting exercise classes for those over 65 every Friday from 9 to 10am at Life Choices, located at 134 Church Street, Glen Innes. These classes are free with a one-off $7 registration fee. Sessions include a movement assessment, ongoing reviews and a cuppa after class. Please note: these classes require an allied health referral. NSW Local Government Elections 2024 Council has created a dedicated webpage for the upcoming NSW Local Government elections in September 2024. This online resource provides crucial information about the election process to the community. To make an appointment, please email council@gisc.nsw.gov.au or call (02) 6730 2316 Glen Innes Severn Boosts Recyling Efforts The Glen Innes Severn community has made commendable progress in recycling this month Council successfully sent 11.500-kilograms of e-waste to the recycling company Sircel. where it will be fully recycled in Australia. This initiative ensures that valuable materials are reprocessed and reused. reducing the environmental impact In addition, the Glen Innes Waste Management Centre collected 13 truckloads of scrap metal for recycling. This effort further supports waste diversion and resource recovery, contributing to the circular economy. These recycling initiatives help divert waste from landhills and promote sustainable practices. The community's commitment to recycling demanato protect responsibly. Council thanks residents for making a positive impact and setting an example for others to follow. Upcoming Annual General Meetings Stonehenge Reserve Trust Committee-Wednesday, 17 July at 9:00 am | Glen Innes Showground, Committee Room WORK! Grey and Wentworth Street Roundabout On Sunday, 16 June, Council undertook preliminary works on the Grey and Wentworth Street roundabout. This project involves milling out and replacing the old bitumen-surfaced pavement, which had been subject to chronic potholing in recent years. The new surface will consist of 100-millimeters of deep lift AC14 asphalt We thank the community for their patience as we complete this essential upgrade to Glen Innes Main Street.
