Glen Innes Town Centre Beautification Project Underway Exciting changes are coming to the Glen Innes town centre as the Beautification Project kicks off! Enhancements include new greenery in garden beds and roundabouts, upgraded street furniture like seating and bins, and refreshed restamping of the town square for a better look and durability No kerb, gutter, road, footpath alterations, or permanent road closures are involved. Improvements will occur intermittently over the next 12 months, with disruptive work scheduled outside peak trading hours to minimise impact on locall businesses. Some temporary traffic interruptions may occur. This project is part of a broader effort to refresh and revitalise the town centre, ensuring that Glen Innes remains an attractive and vibrant place for residents. businesses, and visitors alike. Old Grafton Road Land Slip Repair Completed Council has successfully completed the first major land slip repair on Old Grafton Road The repair addressed damage caused by the September 2022 floods when a fire-damaged log retaining wall gave way. compromising the road embankment above Diehard Creek Council secured funding through the Essential Public Asset Restoration Fund, collaborated with a geotechnical consultant to design the repair, and completed the project with the help of local contractor Taylor Civil Infrastructure Works Program The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 13 September 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays: Jet patching in Glen Innes Township.
