The skincare session, particularly engaging for young males, led to meaningful discussions about self-care and personal wellness MyTime Meetings to Resume at CAFS MyTime sessions will resume on Friday, 9 August 2024, at Children and Family Services (CAFS). These sessions, held fortnightly during school terms, offer support for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children under 18 with disabilities or chronic conditions They include regular meetings, guest speakers, and outings. For more information, please contact Kerry Bowman, Coordinator of Children, Youth, and Family Services, at 0427011974 Official Opening of Centennial Parklands Project The Honourable Barnaby Joyce MP, Member for New England joined Mayor Rob Banham, and distinguished guests on Monday, 5 August to celebrate the official opening of the new amenities block, seating area and children's playground at Centennial Parklands. Funded by the Australian Government's Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program and supported by Glen Innes Severn Council, this $1.44 million project adds a vibrant new dimension to Centennial Parklands, enhancing its appeal and functionality for locals and tourists August Grants & Funding Opportunities Newsletter The August edition of Grants and Funding Opportunities features a diverse range of funding options across community, business, and infrastructure sectors. This month, notable opportunities include grants for sports, digital skills, arts veterans and rural communities. Highlights are the Telstra Footy Country Grants for AFL. To be included on the ballot paper, you must submit your nomination by 12 noon on Wednesday, 14 August 2024. Crofters Cottage Receives a Vibrant Upgrade Crofters Cottage has undergone a minor upgrade with new front doors and a fresh coat of vibrant Welsh Red paint. The old, damaged shutters have been removed, and the window frames have been repainted to match the new doors. With the addition of new amenities, a seating area, and a nearby playground, Crofters Cottage now looks even better as part of the refreshed surroundings. Infrastructure Works Program The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 16 August 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays Jet patching in Glen Innes Township. Mt Mitchell Road and Wellington Vale Road: General pothole patching, street sweeping and roadside slashing around the Glen Innes Township: The Roads Construction Crew will be working at Haymarket Road; Maintenance grading is scheduled Glen Legh Road, Ben Nevis Road. Aqua Park Road, Wycliffe Road, Reedy Creek Road, Oslos Road and Hamels Lane. Maintenance crew is installing Blue Rural Addressing signage.
