The project will involve the demolition of the old timber structure and construction of a replacement concrete bridge. This project is expected to take approximately five month and the road closure between West Avenue and East Avenue will remain in place during this time. This project is made possible under the Fing Country Bridges Program funded by the NSW govemment COUNCIL WORKS PROGRAM The following works are scheduled in the period ending Friday, 29 March 2024 subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays Je patching in Glen Innes Township, Strathbogie Road and assisting with the Heavy Patching Program across various locations General pothole patching street sweeping and roadside slashing around the Glen Innes Township. The Heavy Patching Crew wil be undertaking the heavy patching in the Glen Innes Township GLEN INNES HIGHLANDS Upcoming Events TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES WELLINGROVE CREEK BRIDGE, KINGS PLAINS ROAD Motorists are advised that the bridge over Welingrove Creek on the Kings Plains Road will be closed for repairs between Monday, 25 March and Thursday, 28 March 2024 This will be a full closure, with access to Kings Plains Road west of the bridge via detour on Easter Feeder Road othe MT MITCHELL ROAD AT MANN RIVER The Mount Michel Road will be closed at Mann over for the older bridge and the construction of the replacement concre The $1.4M project is funded by the Fixing Country Bridges Program and will be by Councils Works Department and specit contractors The bridge will be higher, reducing the number of road closures due to flooding and will have wider lanes and re-aligned road approaches to increase user safety The project is expected to take ten months and due to the topographical constraints of the site, a full road closure for the duration of the project is the most appropriate option Atemate access to the M Michell area east of the Mann Rivers via Glen Legh Road CORONATION AVENUE-GRAFTON TO INVERELL EVENT Motorists are advised of the changed waffe conditions and temporary road dosure on Saturday 27 April 2004 for the Grafton to Invered Cycle Classic between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Roads affected which will be closed and/or under Traffic Control conditions include: The Gwydr Highway between Gran and Inver Grafton Street Glen Innes (from Herbert Street to Ferguson Street Coronation Avenue (Road Closure between Grafton Street and Herbert Street).
